The Production Planning Coordinator coordinates with our Fabrication Shop, Assembly, Waterjet, Customer Service, Logistics, and Shipping departments to provide a high level of customer service. This position is based in Tulsa, OK and reports directly to the Production Manager.
Essential Job Functions

  • Create Shop Orders as required to fulfill customer orders, sample request, test samples & stock orders
  • Coordinate the purchasing of components and raw materials to meet due dates and agreed lead times with outside suppliers, including regular supplier follow-up
  • Proactively and professionally communicate Shop Order status to internal and external customers.
  • Daily shop order scheduling, expediting & follow-up to assure completion of shop orders on schedule
  • Daily PO confirmation, follow-up & expediting from internal and external suppliers, communicate results to Sales and other departments
  • Accurately review drawing requirements for Shop Orders
  • Receive Shop Orders, verify, and/or report material and work center times
  • Coordinate necessary drawings and technical information for shop orders.
  • Create BOM's and Routings for manufactured parts in IFS and TC
  • Setup and configure new custom parts and raw materials in IFS
  • Evaluate make or buy decisions and take action based on cost & lead time
  • Coordinate with the warehouse to pick parts needed for shop orders
  • Coordinate with the order department on the delivery of customer orders
  • Coordinate the delivery of manufactured parts with the shipping dept.
  • Other planning and logistics activities as required

    • Good mechanical aptitude required
    • Excellent organizational, problem solving and follow-through skills
    • Knowledge of manufacturing, logistics concepts and business procedures relating to data entry, order delivery & shipping with a focus on customer service are desirable.
    • Solution oriented personality who is customer focused
    • Must have strong attention to detail and accuracy with work
    • Must be able to thrive in a dynamic, fast paced environment, be a self-starter with a sense of urgency and personal responsibility to support the flow of operations
    • Requires excellent communication skills both verbal and written Education and Experience
      • High School diploma or equivalent, some college preferred
      • Manufacturing & planning experience or degree in business or related field
      • Minimum 3 years with ERP systems experience, IFS a plusPhysical Requirements
