Working with the nurses and seeing different units in the hospital was an incredible experience." -Nakie Thurman, 2024 Summer Extern Overview: During your eight-week externship, you will have the opportunity to experience working with preceptors on multiple units. Discover where your passion for nursing is leading you at Mercy!Qualifications: This program is open to any unlicensed RN student (cannot have or obtain LPN license before or during the program) who will have completed at least two semesters of nursing school and graduating December 2025 through May 2026.Certifications: BLS Certification required before assigned to care for patients independently In addition to the online application the following documents must be brought to the in person interview: - Electronic Transcript - Skills Checklist signed by Clinical Instructor- Letter of Recommendation Limited opportunities, so please apply as soon as possible.
